LEMKEN GmbH & Co. KG faced a major technological milestone: the implementation of SAP S/4HANA at the beginning of 2026. To support this transition, the company sought a powerful tool for creating training materials. The primary challenge was to produce high-quality content despite limited time and budget resources within the functional departments.
Following a successful pilot in other applications during Q4 2023, LEMKEN chose datango as its central solution for S/4HANA integration. The deciding factor was datango’s reputation as a "very powerful" and versatile tool that significantly simplifies content creation for subject matter experts.
The objective is to provide efficient training for a complex process landscape (including various SAP modules such as FI, MM, PP, EWM, LE, etc.), ensure user acceptance, and make the rollout internationally scalable.

Solution & Result
LEMKEN relies on a structured process closely integrated with the functional departments. Key users, who possess deep process knowledge and will conduct future training sessions, serve as authors. The workflow is clearly defined: processes are first developed within the department, then translated, configured, and tested in SAP. A process is documented in the datango Creator only after it has been successfully validated in SAP. To ensure clarity, units are limited to a maximum of 15–20 clicks.
The resulting videos are linked in the Aeneis process management tool, where they are available to learners alongside process flowcharts and documentation. Additionally, departments use the content flexibly for course preparation, follow-up, or directly during training sessions.
Currently, the datango Creator and datango Collaborator are being used to build the content foundation; the implementation of datango Live! is planned for a later phase to provide on-the-job support directly within the live system.
A significant advantage emerged during the project thanks to a recent update: authors can now download the Creator directly from the Collaborator, which has considerably reduced the administrative effort for project leads.
Furthermore, basic SAP training (e.g., setting up the Fiori interface) is efficiently recorded via datango and made centrally available to all users in Aeneis. For the future, there are plans to further enrich learning content and complete courses using datango’s quiz functions.
