What exactly happens and why it can be dangerous for you...

In June 2024, SAP® WalkMe® was declared the successor to SAP® Enable Now®. Officially, this is referred to as "reimagined digital adaptation", but in practice it means

  • The SAP® Companion® (in-app help) is discontinued - WalkMe® takes over.
  • Enable Now® content can only be displayed "read-only" in future; migration or editing is not planned.
  • Although traditional authoring tools will remain in place for the time being, they are not guaranteed to survive in the long term.

In other words: Your investment in Enable Now® content is on the brink of extinction.

The new reality: duplicate systems, exploding costs

SAP® is not planning a smooth transition, but a piecemeal approach: individual functions disappear, others run in parallel - without a clear roadmap. This inevitably leads to:

  • Duplicate content structures
  • High maintenance effort
  • Training problems for users and authors
  • Unclear license and support conditions depending on contract status

Those who remain passive during this transition phase risk operational disruptions, outdated content and rising costs.

Technical and organizational consequences

  • No migration possible → All content must be recreated in WalkMe®
  • Double care necessary if transition period is used
  • Loss of know-how, as existing processes and workflows are not transferable
  • Significant time and resource requirements without immediate added value

This is not an upgrade - it is a new start under difficult conditions.

Your options - and the risks behind them

  1. Wait and hope → content becomes obsolete, migration will be even more expensive later.
  2. Follow SAP® Roadmap (WalkMe®) → High training costs, loss of existing functionality, new start.
  3. Check alternative (e.g. datango) → Retention of familiar functions, active support, simple migration.

Conclusion: If you don't act now, you will lose twice later

The trend is clear: Enable Now® is on the sidetrack. If you don't take action now, you will end up in an expensive, chaotic changeover process without any real added value.
Every week of procrastination costs room for maneuver.

In the coming weeks, we will show you which alternatives really work and how you can make an orderly and future-proof exit from Enable Now®.

In the next episode, we will show you an honest comparison of functions: Enable Now® vs. datango - what remains, what is missing, what wins.
